They found no significant differences in test questions ( n = 59 4th-year medical students, 129 multiple-choice questions, average score and standard deviation live/video 87.56 (+4.80) vs 87.99 (+6.46)). compared the effect of live and video lectures on pathology. Video lectures can be repeated as often as wanted, which is particularly useful for a deep understanding or for the preparation of exams. This is also true for self-paced learning. The speed in which the lecture proceeds can be determined by the student himself. Video lectures offer many benefits for the students and for the faculties, and may complement and partly replace conventional live events. No item of the live course was rated better than in the video course.Ĭonclusions: Video and live lectures are equally effective in preparation for the clinical part of the medical exams. The items ‘learning atmosphere’, ‘ability to concentrate’, ‘presence of other students’ and ‘acoustic intelligibility’ were assessed significantly better for the video courses than for the live courses. There were some differences in subjective evaluation: 48% of students preferred live lessons, 27% preferred video lessons and 25% stated ‘neutral’. Results: There is hardly any difference regarding effectiveness. To compare the effectiveness, it was evaluated for 205 students how video and live students answered the 301 multiple choice questions of the medical exam. The assignment to the video group changed daily, so that all students saw both live and video lectures. Three-quarters of the participants received 41 four-hour lessons live, while the same lessons were shown on video to the remaining quarter. The study also examines whether students prefer live or video lectures and for what reason.ĭesign: In 2014, a preparatory course was held at the University of Göttingen to train medical students for the clinical part of the medical exams. Objective: The aim of the present study was to compare whether video lectures are as effective as live lectures to impart the complete contents of the clinical part of the medical exam. They allow an individual choice of time, place and speed of learning. Background: Video lectures are an increasingly popular format.

I was so excited when Carol came to Interweave to film new courses, as I was able to schedule a meeting with her and ask her all kinds of questions. Stocked with beading patterns for beginners, Carol’s book is thorough and encouraging for anyone new to the art of bead weaving. As so many beaders have started with this book as their guide through each of the stitches, I was not surprised to find it to be incredibly useful myself. This book came highly recommended to me as the essential manual for beginners. Mastering Beadwork: A Comprehensive Guide to Off-loom Techniques This truly is a quick and illustrative reference for anything to do with beading and a must-have for any beader of any level. It is also a handy guide for every type of beading technique, including loom, embroidery, off-loom stitches, stringing, crocheting, and knitting. With valuable information on beads, stones, gems, sizing, stringing materials, waxes, and glues, this book contains everything you need to know about the materials used in beaded jewelry. The New Beader’s Companionis an amazing source of reference for any beader, but especially for someone just starting out. This will give you a leg up as you advance your skills as a beginning beader. Each project is each unique and introduces you to many of the different techniques and stitches used in bead weaving. Plus, it is filled with detailed images and illustrations for clarity. With descriptions of many of the basic tools, stitches, and seed beads, Dustin’s book is a great introduction on shopping for the materials needed for your project and how to read a pattern. Now a month later, with many stitches and projects under my belt, I want to recommend some of my favorites! The books below are great gateways into the beading world, and while I haven’t mastered every stitch, I feel confident in my skills because of these books. I was delightfully surprised at how approachable many of the books were, and how many tips, tricks, and projects were contained within them. These books were all about beading for beginners. When I arrived at Interweave, I was welcomed with a stack of books to help acquaint me with the art. I had quilted a bit and cross-stitched as a child, but beading had never been a community in the rural area where I was raised. When I first joined the Beadwork staff, I didn’t know anything about beading. Last year we introduced a range of small branch MX security & SD-WAN appliances with integrated LTE modems to deliver all-in-one cellular failover capability. The Meraki MG Cellular Gateway is our second wave of investment into cellular products. IDC estimates the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of the global LTE gateway market to be approximately 25% with around half of all enterprises using cellular as their current backup network solution for WAN connectivity. The MG Cellular Gateway is a brand new Meraki product line that takes a cellular signal and transforms it into a wired Ethernet connection that can then be propagated down to the rest of a network via a router.Ĭellular usage as a viable enterprise-grade connectivity option has been steadily growing with advances in throughput and availability in particular. If you’re hearing about MG for the first time, then read on… We’re pleased to announce that MG is officially orderable today – try it out for yourself. The reaction to MG has been overwhelming with customers and partners eagerly waiting to get their hands on it, and now, the wait is over. Last month at Cisco Partner Summit, we announced the newest addition to the Meraki platform – the MG Cellular Gateway.
Additionally, Python does not support virtual environments, which can make it more difficult to collaborate with other users. This means users must install each library separately, which can be time-consuming. On the downside, Python does not come with a pre-installed library of packages and libraries. Finally, Python is an open-source language, which means there is a large community of users who can provide support and advice for new users. Python is also more lightweight than Anaconda, which makes it faster and less resource-intensive. This makes it ideal for experienced users who need to customize their programming environment. Unlike Anaconda, Python allows users to install and modify packages outside of its included libraries. One of the main advantages of Python is its flexibility. Python is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. Python is used in a wide variety of applications, including web development, scientific computing, data analysis, and machine learning. It has grown to become one of the most popular programming languages in the world, due to its flexibility and ease of use.
